My Background
J.M.Ó Faoláin is a Canadian writer and poet whose work is shaped by his six years of service in the Canadian Armed Forces, where he served as both an Infantry Officer and a Cavalry Officer. Following his military career, he worked as a bouncer at several bars in Toronto, an experience that exposed him to the raw undercurrents of urban life. These diverse roles—each marked by conflict, discipline, and survival—have imbued his writing with a stark realism and a deep impression of Toronto's underworld.
